After the release of our new AI Lights, we have realized there is some confusion about what model of AquaIllumination light you may have.  In his article, we briefly explain the differences between each model of HD light and how to tell which model you have. 

What is the difference between an AI-Fi Device and AI Light? AI-Fi Devices and AI Lights both have HyperDrive functionality but differ in their connectivity and controllability. 

AI-Fi Device: Our first generation of the HD style lights that began shipping in 2015.  AI-Fi lights have built-in WiFi controllability and will have a serial number that begins with D897.

AI Light: Our newest generation of HD light with built-in Bluetooth controllability.  We began shipping in 2019 and serial numbers will begin with at least 1 numeric digit followed by a letter.
